logging in to post takes me away from the discussion

OK, it's new and the paint is not really dry but it's time to crash or crash thu

logging in to post takes me away from the discussion

Postby mdsmedia » Mon Aug 18, 2008 8:40 am

When I read an article and want to discuss it, then login, I'm taken away from the discussion to the index page. Why can't I be kicked back to the place where I started to login?

And now, 10 days later, not a response to this post.

This new forum is extremely unintuitive. I click on "quote" or "reply" and I'm immediately asked to put in a user name and captcha, and of course my user name is registered so I can't use it without logging in. I log in and am taken to the index page. I then have to search for the article I was reading and navigate back to the comments section that I was originally replying to. All this and I don't have to register to comment. Of course registering gives you the pleasure of a round trip tour of the site just to post a comment.

I agree mdsmedia! This happens on quite a few boards, but not so often now. Someone must have found the magic button :D among all the config. options.. Not here yet though .. ;)

Otherwise, board works quite well.. 8-)

I've found a workaround. I login, then click on the back button a few times until I get back to where I was and click on "reply" or "quote" again.

Or just 'right' click the button, and select from the drop down - "reply" or "quote". Good point ... but I find this sometimes leaves you 'logged out' and you need to login again - and then you can't get back to the message again. *Catch 22.

I've never had the problem of being left logged out, I must say.

Which button do you right-click?
