Intel tries to prove Moore's Law is green

Postby stanbeer » Sun Jun 08, 2008 4:48 pm

According to to this article http://www.itwire.com/content/view/18657/1023/, driving a V8 gas guzzler in these days of skyrocketing fuel prices and fossil fuel induced climate change is no longer considered cool. So why should it be cool to own a supercharged power hungry desktop or laptop computer? Is Moore's Law dead?

Intel tends to side-step that question by pointing to all the things we could be doing with the desktop computers we have to save power. Yet the central issue still remains: the computers we're buying these days are way too powerful for what most of us use them for.
