Win 7 drivers for older hardware

Postby martinscott » Mon Aug 17, 2009 5:02 pm

I've been using Windows 7 RC on a HP/Compaq nc6000. Mostly things have been working, there are a couple drivers that won't install or stay installed. Anybody have any idea if companies like HP will recertify hardware for Windows 7. So far, it has run everything I've installed with 2GB ram. I'm not a gamer but spend a lot of time working on old photos.

Thanks for the help in advance

I installed Windows 7 build 7057 on a Dell XPS 420 one week ago, and after a few hours of road testing decided to begin using it as my main production system. it appears to be mostly unchanged from build 7057, which means most of the RC changes are checked in, and it’s now crunch time in Redmond.
