Cross platform gaming - Do you care?

So how important - as a gaming consumer - is the cross platform feature to you? Being able to play against gamers regardless of hardware, and the possible bragging rights of one platform over another, is that something that gets the juices running?

I'm not a gamer but if I was one I would want my games to be platform independent in exactly the same way I want my software applications to be platform independent. Having said that, I fully understand why the console makers try to create exclusive franchises. Will we ever see Halo on PS3 or Wii?

I really care Cross platform gaming because i am able to play against gamers regardless of hardware, of one platform over another. It really helps me a lot.

I think cross platform gaming is a really cool feature because it gives a broader base to play against.
